About this listing
2013 Custom Shop Faded Candy Tangerine! The body features a two-piece alder center construction. The neck is maple, cut with a straight-grained pattern typical of the Custom Shop. It features the recently popular round-back design, and the neck shape is reminiscent of a '63 model, with a slightly thicker profile in the higher frets. The fret size is 6105-style, and the fingerboard has the standard 9.5-inch radius. There are no specific markings or stickers on the back of the pickups, and the DC resistance readings are approximately 5.4k, 6.2k, and 5.9k from the neck side. It features a RWRP configuration, with only the bridge pickup having a black bobbin; the others have gray bobbins. The soldering and wiring are clean, suggesting it was shipped in its original condition. The controls consist of a 5-way switch, 1 volume, and 2 tone knobs; however, the bridge pickup does not have a dedicated tone control. A matching serial number is inscribed on both the body and neck, confirming its authenticity. The control cavity is marked with "Faded Candy Tangerine." It features a relic finish, so any scratches from use are difficult to discern; even if present, they blend well with the relic effect and are not particularly noticeable. However, there are two small dents near the base of the headstock, which appear to be from use. The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod can be adjusted both ways. There are no noticeable string marks on the frets, and about 70% of the original frets remain. The current string action is set to approximately 2.0 mm on the 6th string and 1.5 mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret. Overall, despite its relic finish, it doesn’t show much noticeable wear. This is a very cool look that results when the Candy Apple Red fades. The sound is crisp and clean overall, making it a great choice for fans of the JM style. The included hard case has been upgraded to a high-end Custom Shop model. Neck condition: No issues The truss rod can be adjusted both to tighten and loosen.
