McPherson Carbon Touring Standard - Black Hardware #20166

The McPherson Carbon Touring Standard with Black Hardware brings the distinctive voice and innovative architecture of McPherson into a compact 3/4 size body designed for effortless playability and remarkable portability. Measuring 36 1/4" overall with a 22 3/4" scale, this lightweight instrument weighs just 4 lbs 5 oz, making it an ideal companion for travel, intimate performances, and everyday playing. Its carefully shaped body measures 9 1/4" across the upper bout, 8 1/2" at the waist, 13" across the lower bout, and 4" in depth, creating a balanced silhouette with a focused, expressive character.

The Touring Standard carries McPherson's signature design language throughout, with an offset soundhole and cantilevered neck that contribute to its distinctive appearance and responsive acoustic voice. The soft V-neck profile sits naturally in the hand, while 14 frets meet the body and 19 frets are provided overall. A generous 1 3/4" nut width offers comfortable string separation, complemented by 2 3/16" string spacing at the bridge for precise picking and fingerstyle work. A composite nut and saddle further support clear articulation and consistent intonation, while enclosed Schaller tuners provide dependable tuning stability.

Built from carbon fiber, the Touring Standard is designed for remarkable stability and consistency in changing environments. Its non-adjustable truss rod requires no conventional adjustment because carbon fiber does not move like wood, helping preserve the instrument's setup and feel over time. Elixir Nanoweb Medium gauge strings are included, while the guitar can accommodate other string types according to the player's preferred feel and tonal character. For amplified performance, the L.R. Baggs Element active system with volume control provides a responsive and natural amplified voice while maintaining the instrument's clear acoustic character.

Completing the package is a hardshell case, offering secure protection for an instrument made to travel. With its compact 3/4 size, 22 3/4" scale, featherweight 4 lb 5 oz construction, and unmistakable McPherson architecture, the Carbon Touring Standard is a guitar that feels at home wherever the music leads. Its offset soundhole, cantilevered neck, soft V profile, black hardware, and carbon fiber construction come together in an instrument that is intimate in size yet confident in voice, offering the freedom to carry exceptional tone wherever inspiration calls.
