Wefve just received a used 1978 Gibson USA The Paul! * Since the original accessories needed to confirm the exact year of manufacture are missing, we have determined it to be a 1978 model based on the serial number and pot dates. "The Paul," introduced in 1978 as Gibson's new budget-friendly Les Paul model This particular guitar is a 1978 model from the very first year of production. It features a walnut body, a 3-piece walnut neck, and a striped ebony fingerboard. The body has been contoured to improve playability. The neck shape is a slightly thinner 70s-style C-shape. It is equipped with two original "stamped numbered" pickups. With just the right amount of power and a clear, crisp sound, this guitar is versatile enough to handle a wide range of genres. Although there are signs that the wiring has been tampered with and some date stamps are obscured, the pots appear to be original. Neck Pot Vol: 13778- Tone: 1--7-- Bridge Pot Vol: 1--783 Tone: 13778- Regarding the condition, there are scratches and dents visible on the body. There are some dents visible along the edge of the fingerboard. While there are signs of use, the guitar is in good condition for its age. The frets have worn down, but there are no issues with playability at this time. This is "The Paul," a guitar that retains the atmosphere of a 1970s Gibson!
