Speaking of the ES-335, which is now synonymous with semi-acoustic guitars, the first thing that comes to mind is the cherry or sunburst model with this dot inlay. It's Larry Carlton.
The semi-hollow structure, with the familiar center block in the center of the body and hollow holes on both sides, produces a unique sound that combines an acoustic feel with a solid feel.
The ES-335 was introduced surprisingly late, in 1958. It was released after the Les Paul.
It is said that the ES-335 was created by combining the strengths of Gibson's pre-Les Paul full acoustic guitar and Les Paul.
The 335 is a guitar that has the warm sound of a full acoustic guitar, the sustain and howling resistance of a Les Paul, and is actually a guitar with a very wide range of sounds.
The 335 is used by musicians from a wide variety of genres, from jazz to rock.
Recently, more and more guitarists are using the 335 or 355 by plugging it into a fairly high-gain amplifier, so it seems like we live in an era where the 335 is not all about jazz or fusion.
The ES-335 can now be said to be the standard for semi-acoustic guitars, so it's probably a good idea to have one.
