The Gibson Songwriter Recording Artist Rosewood Burst combines traditional Gibson craftsmanship with modern playability. As a dreadnought acoustic guitar from the Modern Acoustic Series, it features an all-solid construction. The Rosewood Burst nitrocellulose finish creates a striking color gradient, while the tortoise pickguard, abalone rosette, and MOP diamond-eye fingerboard inlays add both functional and visual appeal. Made in the USA and supplied with a matching hardshell case, the Gibson Songwriter Recording Artist stands for authentic tone, premium build quality, and true Gibson heritage.
The dreadnought body delivers powerful projection and a balanced, well-defined tone. Its solid torrefied Sitka spruce top provides quick response and exceptional dynamic range, while the torrefaction process contributes to a more mature, “played-in” character. Solid rosewood back and sides enhance the sound with deep, warm bass, sparkling highs, and rich overtones, resulting in a detailed, full-bodied tonal profile.
The mahogany neck, shaped in Gibson’s proven round profile, sits comfortably in the hand and ensures a natural playing feel. A high-quality ebony fingerboard supports precise articulation and smooth playability. Gold-plated Grover open-gear tuners offer reliable tuning stability and easy adjustment. The setup is completed by a 43.82 mm bone nut, ideal for both powerful strumming and articulate flatpicking.
For stage use, the Gibson Songwriter Recording Artist is equipped with the L. R. Baggs HiFi pickup system. Two bridge plate sensors capture the top’s subtle vibrations with high sensitivity, faithfully reproducing the guitar’s natural tone through an amplifier or PA system with excellent clarity and feedback resistance. This ensures that the instrument’s acoustic character is preserved even when amplified. The sensors are mounted using special adhesive pads and can be removed without leaving residue. A discreet control unit located in the soundhole allows for intuitive sound shaping, with volume and tone controls enabling precise adjustments for any musical setting.
