Heavy, built to sustain bass with aluminium neck. The neck has two inlaid wooden strips (shedua) to keep your hands from cooling down while playing. The fingerboard is made of ebonol, a phenolic substitute for ebony.  The body is made out of Shedua, with a rockmaple/walnut/rockmaple centreblock.

The pickups are humbuckers, and they are placed near their tonal extremes. The neck pickup sounds wooly while the bridge pickup sounds bright. Both just a tad more than we are commonly used to.

The pots and caps are no longer original, but not to fear: The new pots are CTS/USA types and the caps are Sprague 715 series Orange drops. The passive circuitry has some genius here: The neck pickup has the regular passive low pass tone controll, but the bridge pickup got a non-standard passive high pass filter, so you can dial away the lows. This is very cool, as you can get all the warm lows from the neck pickup, and the detailed trebles from the bridge pickup. This is the passive version of what Alembic and Wall try to do with active electronics. And it does work, very cool!

All else on this bass is completely original and in good shape, the original Schaller M4 machines function well, the fragile wooden pickuprings are still in one piece and even the original strapbuttons are present.

This is a perfect bass for someone who dares to sound a little different, and does not squeem at a little extra weight..
