About this listing
1969 Harmony Buck Owens American – One-of-a-Kind Buck Owens Presentation GuitarFor sale is an exceptionally unique piece of country-music history: a 1969 Harmony Buck Owens American acoustic guitar with a remarkable personal connection to Buck Owens himself. This guitar was personally given by Buck Owens to his friend Walter Kane, making it far more than a standard example of the famous red, white and blue Harmony Buck Owens model. Its history has also been documented and discussed in a Roadshow video, which I will include with the listing for prospective buyers to view. The guitar has had a neck/headstock break since that appearance, which was professionally repaired. The repair is visible and I want to be completely transparent about it, but structurally the guitar is solid and it plays like a dream. It has also been upgraded with a K&K pickup, making it ready to plug in and play while retaining the character of this nearly 60-year-old instrument.Cosmetically, it shows the honest wear you would expect from a vintage guitar that has actually lived a life. The iconic red, white and blue finish, star headstock inlays and Buck Owens styling are all there, and the guitar comes with the pictured hardshell case.Details: 1969 Harmony Buck Owens American; personally gifted by Buck Owens to Walter Kane; documented history with accompanying Roadshow video; repaired neck/headstock break; K&K pickup installed; excellent player; hardshell case included. This is not a museum-perfect example, and that’s really not what makes this guitar special. It’s a genuine vintage Buck Owens Harmony with a story, direct personal provenance and a connection to the man whose name is on the headstock.Serious inquiries only. Additional detailed photos of the guitar, repair, interior markings and any provenance/documentation can be provided. If you’re a Buck Owens collector, Bakersfield Sound fan, vintage Harmony collector, or simply someone looking for an instrument with a story that another example can’t duplicate, this is a special one.
