The PRS S2 Vela Frost Blue Metallic combines the renowned high quality and feel of PRS Custom models with a refreshing new double-cut offset body design. Equipped with a Type-D single coil on the neck and a DS-01 humbucker on the bridge, it delivers a characterful, clear sound perfect for Blues and rock, and features solid PRS hardware composed of low-mass top-locking machine heads and a resonant vintage-style PRS plate-style bridge.

For the construction of the refreshingly as well as ergonomically styled S2 Vela, PRS relies on the proven set-neck construction and tried-and-tested tonewoods. Thus, the mahogany body and the glued mahogany neck create the basis for a fast-responding and sustain-rich sound. At the same time, the pleasantly strong "Pattern Regular" neck profile promises first-class playing characteristics in all positions of the rosewood fingerboard.

For authentic vintage tones, a PRS S2 D-style single coil is available in neck position. The DeArmond-style single coil sounds raw and clear in front of cranked-up amps, while articulating to the crunch limit. Ultimately, with a PRS S2 DS-01 Treble Humbucker at the bridge, the PRS S2 Vela showcases the hotter end of its sonic palette, impressing with powerful Brown tone and characterful PAF tones. Last but not least, the bridge humbucker can be switched to coil split mode via the Push/Pull Tone control.

In addition to the pickups and electronics, the S2 Vela Frost Blue Metallic guitar from PRS was also equipped with the premium-level hardware features of the S2 series. The plate-style bridge specially designed for the PRS S2 Vela guarantees long sustain and perfect intonation of the played notes thanks to its brass-made tailpieces, while the top-locking function of the low-mass tuners ensures easy string changes.
