The completely handmade cymbals of the Formula 602 Modern Essentials series were developed in collaboration with legendary drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. Colaiuta, who has such illustrious names as Zappa, Sting, Chaka Khan or Ray Charles in his CV, aimed for a universal all-round sound character, which is not specialized in certain styles and has a particularly broad sound potential.

The Swiss cymbal forge masters met the high demands of Colaiutas by combining the classic 602 sound - transparency and embroidery definition - with the rich, warm, dark and somewhat more complex sound of the Signature Traditionals.

The legendary 602 Bronze

The Formula 602 basins in the "Modern Essentials" variant are made of CuSn20 bronze, also known as "602 bronze", just like their counterparts in the classic Formula 602 series. They produce a relatively deep, dark, rich and warm sound, which is primarily recommended for traditional rock, pop, jazz, R&B or folk bands. Due to its extremely high dynamic potential, the Formula 602 Modern Essentials cut an excellent figure both in the studio and in live use.
