A superb VINE V4R, a 5-string banjo made in Japan by Kanda Shokai on April 7, 1977.
* Hand-picked and imported from Japan by us *
The VINE brand is rare today and highly sought after by enthusiasts of vintage Japanese instruments. Produced by Kanda Shokai—the renowned Japanese distributor behind many prestigious brands (Greco, Zemaitis Japan, etc.)—these banjos boast excellent build quality and a warm, powerful, and perfectly balanced tone.
This unit is 100% original and comes with its period-correct documentation—a real bonus for collectors.
It is in excellent overall condition for an instrument nearly 50 years old; there are a few minor signs of normal use, and the frets are in very good condition (see photos for details).
The VINE V4R delivers a classic bluegrass sound, featuring excellent projection, strong bass, warm mids, and precise highs. Its generous sustain and impressive dynamic range make it just as enjoyable for traditional picking as it is for folk, country, or fingerstyle playing.
