The Yamaha SG1000: A Masterpiece Original Model!!

Development of Yamaha electric guitars began around 1965.

At the behest of the then-president, the late Genichi Kawakami, the staff were instructed to create entirely original electric guitars.

This led to the development of the Yamaha SG.

The SG1000, released in 1976, remains a representative SG model with many devoted users today.

Features such as the Bi-Sound system, which allows for single-coil sound by coil-tapping the humbucking pickup, and the Direct Circuit, which prevents grounding that can compromise the high frequencies of the sound, were first introduced in the SG1000.

It boasts a very warm sound with a rich, full low-mid range.

The rich low-mid range, when switched to Bi-Sound mode, produces a thick sound similar to a P-90 pickup.

The SG1000, the "standard model" of the SG series, was created to carry on the legacy of the SG2000.
It's an indispensable instrument when discussing Japanese vintage guitars!
