Adrian Kirchler, who skillfully manipulates metal materials, primarily brass and copper, creates high-end metal snares.
The edge finish, in which the folded edge is soldered to the shell body, incorporates the shell structure produced from the 1920s to 1940s. Adrian mastered this technique through collecting and repairing many vintage drums, and through years of analyzing shell structure.
About the Dresdner Type
Founded in 1924, Dresner Apparatebau is a percussion instrument manufacturer in the Dresden region of Germany that preserves the tradition of drum manufacturing. Adrian respects and imitates Dresdner.
It features a thin 0.7mm brass shell and a standard Dresdner bearing edge. The unique Dresdner-type hoop maximizes the inherent characteristics of the shell, revealing the distinctive brilliance of brass. The shell's vibration rate is extremely high, so the sound of the drum itself is unmatched. The side heads resonate and vibrate the wires seamlessly, ensuring accurate play from pianissimo to fortissimo.
In keeping with tradition, the drum is equipped with "classic wire-wound silk snares," which minimize overtones from excess wire, producing a crisp, precise snare sound with every hit.
Each drum is finished with a traditional nickel coating, giving it the unique character of a handmade product.
