This is an opportunity to own a rare, USA-built, Steinberger XL25AULF unlined-fretless 5-string bass. This bass was just restored and set-up by the former head of production at the Steinberger Sound factory in Newburgh, N.Y. He resurfaced the fingerboard, disassembled, cleaned and lubricated the bridge, and serviced the electronics.
This bass is now in stunning condition (see photos). Now that all of this work has been completed, this incredible bass should need no further attention for the next 25 years. A perfect playing bass that's been serviced by the world's top Steinberger tech, it now plays and performs as well as (or probably better than) the day that it first left the factory.
