Nord Rack 2 – fully refurbished, serviced condition

All necessary interventions have just been completed on this unit. Anyone familiar with these machines knows: in every Nord Rack 2, the original SMD electrolytic capacitors have already started to fail. They leak, creep under PCB traces and pads, and over time they literally begin to eat away the copper. The same applies to the power supply: the original components are no longer in the condition the instrument was designed for. This includes hygroscopic, cracked RIFA X2 capacitors and the originally average-quality electrolytics. The power supply has now been completely rebuilt using only premium-grade components (Panasonic, Chemi-Con, Nichicon), with improved, more optimal values.

The output coupling capacitors have been replaced with Elna Silmic II types. Their silk fiber dielectric results in lower nonlinear distortion and reduced dielectric “memory” effect, providing cleaner, more stable, and more transparent signal transfer in this position compared to standard electrolytics.

Measured with an audio analyzer, the output spectrum after refurbishment is clean and well-ordered: low noise floor, elimination of low-frequency contamination, and restored signal path linearity. In practice, it reaches a reference (“better than new”) Nord Lead 2 level, thanks to the higher-quality components.

Cosmetically rated “Very Good”, with typical signs of use and minor wear. These are visible in the photos. Overall a well-kept, not abused unit.
