Rebuilt 1974 Marshall 50-Watt JMP 50 MK II, all done by the legendary George Metropoulos.

If you know George and his builds, you know he is a modern authority on all things vintage Marshall. Sometimes he runs into old Marshalls where the best route is a complete rebuild— this is one of them.

This has topshelf components like Mercury Magnetics ToneClone transformers and choke, Sozo mustards, beautiful point-to-point lead dress and a WONDERFUL master volume by George-- added on the front panel in place of the original presence knob— and presence knob/function has been moved to the red chicken head knob on the back panel.

Gone is the factory-Marshall PCB that can be tricky to work on— George replaced the board with a point-to-point handwired board.

The result is a vintage sounding Marshall with the ability to maintain bedroom volume and still have all the authority and punch without killing your ears. I really don't know how George does these master volumes, but its the best I've played to date.

At its core— the majority DNA of this amplifier is a Metropoulos build.. with the obvious cool touches of the original ‘74 Marshall headshell, metal control panels + chassis and the occasional original Marshall component or resistor inside.

While it is not an all original-condition 1974 Marshall, the original headshell is quite the rarity and worth a bit on its own, and George's builds are world-reknown as well.

His work on this head simply makes it the most useful Marshall out there, in my opinion.

Tons of tonal possibilities with the jumpering of channels, playing with the presence knob, the EQ, etc. If you want sparkly clean pedal platform, you got it. If you want to dime it and get all that Marshall saturation and body, you got it.

George has sadly and recently closed shop, so here's a chance to get a rare piece of his as time marches on...

I added the white Marshall knobs.. they come with the reflector tops/caps, but I will also throw in a set of standard reissue black/gold Marshall knobs if you want the classic look as well— just let me know.

Matching Avatar Bluesbreaker Cabinet is also available for a small additional and nominal fee — loaded with Celestion G12-75’s, I can also sell unloaded for even cheaper if you prefer your own speakers. I have plenty of packing material and experience to get both of these pieces to you safely, so buy with confidence.
