*This is a custom build not affiliated with Fender-NOT a Fender*
I built this guitar as a nod to the aesthetics of a Fender amplifier. You are unlikely to find one similar and this is the only one like this for sure. I built it for myself but I inherited my grandfather's Telecaster and rarely play this one anymore. It has an alder body with an All Parts Fender licensed neck. The body features black tolex on the back and grill cloth on the front with a piece of chrome trim around the outer edge. The pick guard is covered with black tolex as well. Overall it's barely over 8 lb so it's not very heavy!
I wired an amplifier light and connected it so when you plug into the 1/4-in output jack, it turns on the amplifier light. The light runs on a pair of lithium watch batteries that are mounted in the control cavity. The amplifier style switch is a three-way that operates the same as a normal Telecaster selector. Neck, neck/bridge, bridge. Volume and tone potentiometers that are full size with a treble bleed circuit.
The neck is a an All Parts Fender licensed TRO-V soft V-profile, 7.25 in radius, maple neck with rosewood fretboard that was finished in vintage tint nitrocellulose. Full specifications for the neck are below. Graph Tech TUSQ nut.
The hipshot locking tuners ensure quick string changes and rock solid tuning stability. Compensated brass saddles on a vintage style Fender bridge ensure intonation and classic Telecaster tone.
The bridge pickup is a Fender MIM that twangs like it should and the neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan STR-1 vintage Telecaster. I usually don't care for neck pickups on Telecasters but this one is very warm and is actually a usable Telecaster neck pickup. If you'd prefer different pickups in it, you can have them sent to me and I can install them for free of charge but these are great.
It was recently set up with 9-42s and plays perfectly but I always recommend planning to have a basic setup done with your local tech as things can shift during shipping. It's a Telecaster, it's pretty unlikely it will shift.
This was not a case queen but it is in excellent condition overall. Take a look at the photos as I tried to provide a good amount of photos. There are some signs of use but nothing major. There's a small hole in the tolex near the control plate. There are a few light scratches on the neck plate and Chrome trim. There are some tooling marks on the string ferrules on the back.
Includes a gator TSA hard case that holds the guitar nicely. If you want to save a few bucks I can hang on to the case, but I prefer to sell it with it for protection. I'm very emotionally connected to this guitar for obvious reasons and I'd prefer the extra protection during shipping.
I'm willing to ship internationally for the actual cost of shipping so reach out for a quote.
