Terry Bozzio is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work with Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Jeff Beck, and his pioneering development of melodic and chromatically tuned drum sets.

This is a rare vintage The Shark Electronic Bass Drum Trigger Pedal from the personal collection of legendary drummer Terry Bozzio.

“THE SHARK / TERRI BOZZIO.” is engraved on the front end of the pedal.

Developed during the electronic percussion boom of the 1980s, The Shark was an innovative electronic bass drum trigger pedal designed for fast, responsive footwork without the need for a conventional bass drum or electronic kick pad. Its compact, spring-loaded design allowed drummers to trigger electronic percussion sounds directly from the pedal.

This example features a black metal footboard, adjustable spring mechanism, roller-operated triggering assembly, and a 3-pin XLR-style connector. Its unusual mechanical construction reflects the experimentation and evolving technology of early electronic drum systems.

It's clearly been used, the yellow roller covering shows visible wear and some deterioration. The spring, footboard, and triggering mechanism are intact.

Includes the black hard case shown in the photographs, and a certificate of authentication signed by Terry and Donn.
