This listing is for a Roland AP-2 PHASE-II phaser pedal from the early Roland effects era.

This is a Japan Vintage Roland-branded pedal from the period before the BOSS compact pedal line became widely established. Since Roland was founded in 1972, the AP-2 is a model that appeared only around three years after the company’s founding.

Carefully cleaned, inspected, and tested by RETUNE WORKS, this unit appears to retain all original electronic components. No obvious signs of parts replacement were found during inspection.

Maintenance / Inspection Notes

The entire unit was carefully cleaned.

The potentiometers were serviced by removing oxidation from the wiper contact areas, cleaning the carbon tracks with electronic cleaner, and applying contact treatment where appropriate.

The input and output jacks were cleaned as much as possible, and contact treatment was applied.

During testing, the pedal worked properly. However, the input jack may have some plug compatibility sensitivity. Among five shielded cables tested, one cable had a slight looseness at the input jack, and the sound could cut out if the plug was moved side to side.

Replacement of the jack was considered, but since the unit appears to remain original and the jack structure is not simple to disassemble, preservation of the original condition was prioritized. The jack was cleaned and treated as much as possible while keeping the original part intact.
