Gibson's flat-top guitars have characterised US roots music like no other instrument since the 1930s. As part of the Century Collection, guitar-making legend Gibson is now presenting the Gibson L-00 Century 12-Fret Vintage Amber, which gives the iconic Parlor model, now over 90 years old, a refreshing new touch. As a 12-fret version, the model offers some interesting tonal and tactile advantages that make the classic appear in a completely new light. In addition, Gibson is giving every guitar in the new Century Collection an exclusive hardshell case in a timelessly elegant tweed look.

The Gibson L-00 Century 12-fret acoustic guitar uses a classic tonewood combination of solid Sitka spruce and solid mahogany. While the Sitka spruce top in flat-top construction gives the sound its clarity and definition, the mahogany body contributes a warm, mid-range character. The 12-fret construction also plays an important role here: the neck transition, which is offset to the 12th fret, not only places the nut closer to the player, but also moves the rosewood bridge further into the body. Fingerstyle players in particular benefit from the softer attack of this construction.

For the Gibson L-00 Century 12-Fret Vintage Amber, Gibson relies on tried and tested hardware equipment. While the nut and bridge inlay are made from real bone for the most resonant vibration transmission possible in the neck and body, the instrument also has six bridge pins made from GraphTech's proprietary TUSQ material. The equipment is completed by authentic "3-on-a-Plate" tuners with cream buttons, which not only give the L-00 Century 12-Fret absolute tuning stability, but also its iconic headstock look.
