Each drum in the Classic Maple series is handcrafted at Ludwig’s American factory, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and tonal precision.

This set includes a 22" x 14" bass drum, a 12" x 8" tom, and a 16" x 16" floor tom in a foiled Silver Sparkle finish. The Classic Maple shells feature seven layers of maple, resulting in a 6 mm thickness. Thanks to the RFST molding process, the shells provide optimal resonance. Equipped with Ludwig Weathermaster heads seated on a 45° bearing edge, the Ludwig Classic Maple achieves a professional look and a harmoniously balanced sound.

The signature tone of the Classic Maple Shell Set comes from its meticulously crafted drum shells. Each shell consists of seven layers of premium maple: a core of three cross-laminated veneer layers, plus two inner and two outer layers formed using the RFST molding process. The bearing edge is sanded at a precise 45° angle along the outer approx. 1.5 mm of the core, creating a sharp edge that contributes to the drums’ open, resonant sound character.
