The 5043 is a dual-channel analog compressor/limiter designed by Rupert Neve. Each channel has controls for threshold, ratio, attack, release, and gain, so you can dial in anything from subtle, transparent compression to more aggressive limiting. The unit can run as two separate compressors (dual mono) or be linked for stereo sources, and it also lets you switch between feed-forward and feed-back compression styles, which gives you different compression characters depending on what you're going for.
A really versatile piece of analog gear that works well for tracking, mixing, or bus compression.
