Ibanez RGD71ALMS BAM Multi-Scale 7-String Electric Guitar – Black Aurora Burst
The RGD71ALMS BAM is a purpose-built extended-range machine that immediately reveals its engineering through hand feel and response. The multi-scale fretboard delivers a tangible difference in playing experience—tighter low-end tension on the 27" B-string scale, comfortable bend geometry on the higher strings at 25.5"—while the fast, slim neck profile cuts fatigue during extended technical passages. This is a guitar engineered for aggressive modern styles and down-tuned precision without compromise on articulation.
Playability & Construction
The Nitro Wizard-7 neck combines panga panga and walnut in a bolted-on design that balances stability with resonance. A Macassar ebony fretboard hosts 24 Sub Zero treated fanned frets with white step offset dots and luminescent side dots for visibility across dynamic lighting. The multi-scale design ranges from 27" to 25.5", equalizing string tension across all seven strings, while the 12"–16" compound radius supports both aggressive downstrokes and smooth bends without compromising either technique. A Nyatoh body paired with a mono-rail fixed bridge isolates each string for articulate note definition and locked intonation.
Tone & Electronics
Dual Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic active humbuckers deliver high-output clarity with studio-grade headroom and multiple voicing options accessible via a push/pull switch on the volume control. The active architecture ensures consistent output across all seven strings, providing flexibility from tight, aggressive modern metal tones to dynamic response without sacrificing the articulation extended-range playing demands.
