1974 Fender Jazz Bass – Natural
We present an all original 1974 Fender Jazz Bass in its original Natural finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
History
This stunning ’74 Jazz Bass is coming directly from the original owner. He has loved and played this bass for centuries with his band Majestic Country Band (see pictures).
Condition
Overall, this Fender Jazz Bass is in fantastic clean condition with minimal nicks, dings, belt buckle wear and other cosmetic wear. The original owner has really taken good care of the bass. It features a straight and clean maple neck with bindings and a maple fretboard with pearl block inlays. Beautiful combo in our opinion. The original frets and nut are in great condition with plenty of life left. The original Natural finish remains clean without a lot of fading. The original white pickguard is a crack-free example.
Originality
This fantastic Natural Jazz Bass is 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1974. Comes complete with its original bridge and pickup covers, owners manual and keys for the case.
The 4x original tuning machines turn smoothly and work as intended. The playability is excellent, and it’s extremely resonant. Outstanding tone and a huge, dark-sounding response. One of the last ’74 Jazz Bass’s to feature the desirable 4-bolt neck construction before Fender transitioned to a 3-bolt neck construction on a Jazz Bass in mid-late 1974. 1974 is also the year Fender moves the tug-bar also called “thump rest” from below the strings to above like this one.
The pickups and electronics wiring remain untouched and fully intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
