Vintage Gibson ES-345TD in beautiful cherry red finish. This finish looks much nicer than other examples and really pops to stand out. Serial number is 123212 "Made in USA" with neck volute and Norlin purple and black Kalamazoo label inside the guitar. This guitar was sold new in London and has its original Selmer case. Selmer was the UK distributor for Fender and Gibson guitars and had their own line of hard cases. This was a studio guitar at a major London Studio for session work. It is believed to be a 1970 based on the serial number and label, but Gibson did not properly track serial numbers for the first few years in the 70s and jumped around back and forth with six digit serial numbers beginning with a 1. These serial numbers in the 1XXXXX range began in 1970 and ended in 1975 but are not in order. Again, based on the case and features, I believe it to be closer to 1970 than 1975. You would have to check the date codes on the pots to get the exact year, but I have no capacity to do this. It is a very good looking guitar at being over half a century old. Outstanding value for money, being cheaper than many brand new Gibson Custom Shop guitars, especially the Murphy Lab guitars that costs thousands extra to pretend to be as old as this guitar. Very good condition. There is a little amount of sticker residue on the back of the headstock from where the London dealer had their dealership details between the tuners on the back, as was normal for the era. You can clean that off if it bothers you. Very vibrant red color that looks better than most other examples.
