The Case...
This instrument comes with its original Gibson Firebird X case and handbag. The cases are pretty worn along the tops/edges from being used to transport this instrument from place to place. They still function as intended, but look a bit rough.

The Guitar!
This Firebird X is labeled as "Proto #1" meaning this was a prototype for the Firebird X model. Since many of these were destroyed by Gibson, collector's interest has been renewed in this "hated" model. If you're going to own one for collector's purposes - it might as well be the #1 prototype!
Due to the experimental nature of this guitar, there were probably multiple prototypes. This likely wasn't the first-made, but might've been the first Red one produced - a color that was later put into production along with blue. It seems very possible this was taken to many Gibson events like NAMM to be put on display or for people to try. The case conditions certainly account for that.

The condition of the guitar itself is actually quite good. Some pitting to the chrome coating on the pickups/hardware is present, but limited nicks/dings are visible. In my test of the guitar, the electronics appear to be functioning as intended at this time. The D string auto-tuner seems to be having some issues getting that string tuned correctly, but the other 5 work well. I'm selling this guitar as-is. It is collectible for its serial number. Eventually, all these Firebird X will stop working. This is aging technology and good luck ever finding someone to work on one of these!

This also includes the two-foot pedals, ~8 batteries, charger, hub and other cables you might need. The batteries are starting to "bulge." The foot pedals are untested, but I have no reason to believe they wouldn't work if properly hooked up. They are not needed to operate the guitar, but can aid in altering the tones of your instrument and expanding what you can do with the firebird X.

If you want to play this guitar - you'll want to change the strings. I haven't changed them

Conclusion
Love or hate this guitar (they are actually quite comfortable to play) it is a piece of Gibson history and this was one that started it all!
