1983 USA Peavey Mystic Hardtail Electric Guitar Original Blade Pickups Bizarre Pointy

Guitar is in fair shape overall. Neck is straight, frets are clean, truss rod adjust nut is clean and truss rod turns and is working properly with original Peavey blade pickups.

Normally I’d say this guitar would rate as “good” to “very good” condition but somewhere along the way someone has scratched “DAL” on the back so I’ve graded down to “fair” condition.

A Previous owner had swapped out original pickups and potentiometers but had kept the originals and they have been reinstalled. Original 1983 CTS pots are back in business and the tone control works as a coil tap feature (as intended). Everything works as it should, but there is an audible buzz when adjusting the volume control. Also when the single coils are engaged on tone controls 7-10 there is a buzz as well. When the tone controls are turned all the way to 0 and up to 6 the humbuckers sound loud and full without any buzzing. There is a Peavey wiring diagram online for the Mystic (and their other models) and it should be simple enough to trace through the diagram and correct any issues. I'm sure it's an easy fix. No other parts from previous pickup swap included.

It doesn’t look like any mods were made when swapping pickups and electronics. The pickup cavities are still red with no indication of any extra screw holes or modding.

Original chrome bat pickup selector switch was replaced and the original barrel output jack was replaced with an Electrosocket jack (see pics). Truss rod cover screw is not original.

This is a pre owned vintage guitar that will show signs of wear commensurate of age and use. There are dings, dents, scratches etc. I am not the original owner and do not know the past history of this instrument.
