For sale: Korg EX-8000. This is the highly sought-after 2U rackmount version of the legendary DW-8000 synthesizer. It features a brilliant hybrid architecture, combining early digital waveforms (DWGS) with incredibly warm, true analog resonant filters (NJM2069). Perfect for massive 80s pads, deep analog-style basses, and synthwave textures. It also includes a beautifully gritty built-in digital delay.
Condition and modifications:
- Condition: Good overall condition. Fully functional, shows some normal signs of rack wear but looks great.
- New Battery: Internal memory battery has been replaced, holding patches safely.
- Power Board Recap: The power supply board has been completely recapped with new capacitors for maximum reliability and stability.
- Toroidal Transformer Upgrade: The original, notoriously noisy/buzzing Korg transformer has been professionally replaced with a high-quality, dead-silent toroidal transformer. The synth is now exceptionally quiet with no mechanical hum.
