This beautiful tenor ukulele from Koaloha is made of solid koa wood and has a great brilliance and assertiveness. The models made of mango wood have a little more bass in direct comparison, but this difference can only be heard in direct comparison. A great instrument straight from Hawaii and from one of the most famous manufacturers of ukuleles in the world.
The story of Koaloha begins in 1995, when Alvin Okami founded the manufactory with the help of his family on the island of Hawaii. Legend has it that he was asked by the owners of a souvenir store to make small ukulele miniatures, which later gave rise to the idea of building the first “real” instruments. Everything is handcrafted using the highest quality woods such as the famous Hawaiian koa.
To this day, Koaloha is a Hawaiian family business that has become one of the best-known names in the world when it comes to high-quality, solidly built ukuleles.
The construction of Koaloha ukuleles has some special features that differ from the “conventional” construction of other manufacturers: Tops and backs, for example, are glued directly onto the sides. The bracing used is also a proprietary development that is not found in other manufacturers.
The result is great instruments with a unique design, wonderful sound and captivating looks!
