MIDI-ready, travel-ready guitar for studio and live performance.
ABOUT GUITAR
Stock Alp Leaf pickups were replaced with Gibson 550T/496R. The 500T/496R set was common in Gibson flying V’s.
500T output is 15.27
496R output is 8.52.
Together, the pickups are perfectly balanced. The goal of this pickup upgrade was to make this guitar studio-ready.
ABOUT MIDI
MIDI is the real reason for buying this guitar. It's often hard to compare this guitar to other MIDI solutions, so here's a list of products that I've personally tried and fail to compete with this Jamstik.
1. The Plastic Jamstik doesn't play as well as this guitar. This is a real guitar with a full-size,
C-shaped neck and weight.
2. Jam Origin software is clunky and sticks often. With Jamstik, you will not have to hit the MIDI “panic” button repeatedly.
3. Jammy Gen1 is not as responsive.
4. Jammy Gen2 is made of fragile plastic.
5. Sonuus i2m music port is not accurate.
6. Sonuus G2M v3 is still not as accurate.
7. Parker MIDI fly (5-pin) has slow latency.
8. Parker MaxxFly MIDI (w/ Roland 13-pin) costs upward to $4500.
9. Guitar + Roland GK-3 Hex Pickup requires custom installation.
10. MIDI Guitar 2 by Jam Origin is useless considering that the Jamstik can connect via Bluetooth.
