Overview: Awwwww, yeah! Big old bass...! This LP Studio bass is short scale, clean-sounding, has a great stage presence, and is full of tonal tricks to play around with. The pickups are low-output as they're low impedance and designed to give a flatter, even, response that won't overdrive an amp (per Les Paul's desires at the time). These were designed to be used with either a preamp or specialized cable to bump their signal up to normal amp inputs levels, but any modern bass amp aside from skimpy practice amps will have more than enough power to give them enough oomph on their own. In the video I only needed to bump the volume up 2-3 numbers compared to a P Bass pickup to approximate the same volume.

Repairs included: Jacobi gave it a level/dress of the frets and setup. I cleaned the wiring out a bit and, as I recall, we may have replaced the jack at the same time. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: It's completely original aside from strap buttons and the jack plate. It had an original plastic plate which had deteriorated so we installed a steel, chromed one instead. There's buckle rash to the back of the instrument. There's weather-check throughout the finish and some small scratches here and there throughout as well as a little "pickwear" to the treble side of the pickups. We added copper shielding to the pickup cavity and also the control plate cover -- something I figured would be useful considering that whole pile of uninsulated cable in there!

It comes with: Its got its original hard case which arrived with a basement smell. I've left it out in the sun for a month and a half and it appears to be cleared-up, now. Thank you, UV!
