Selling my Les Paul Junior Double Cut in Tobacco Sunburst VOS from the Gibson Custom Shop.The guitar was purchased from Musik Rieger in Styria, here in Austria. It seems to be an exclusive model produced for the German and Austrian Market, the sister guitar is still up for grabs on Station Music.As you can see the guitar came with, quite unusal for a Junior, a Humbucker, a Gibson Livebucker (Alnico 3) to be precise. It also has Grover Rotomatics installed from the factory.This was the reason I instantly jumped on it, although I love the sound of a good P90, the hum is what doesn‘t work for me.It sounds and plays amazing, even unplugged it resonates very loud and clear, once you pair it with a Marshall and hit the first chord you‘re in heaven!Why sell it then you ask? Well, this guitar has a neck that is deserving of the term „baseball bat“. I am more used to slimmer Jackson and Fender style C profiles and as much as I love it it should find a good home were it gets played more often and on a regular basis. This axe is not meant to be babied but rather rocked on stage!I replaced the stock wraparound with a Music City Bridges Savvy and the locking studs they offer, of course in an aged finish to complement the slight relic job and VOS finish from factory. The guitar intonates perfectly now and changing strings is a breeze because once you do a setup and lock the studs down, nothing moves. No bridge tilt either. The original wraparound is of course included in the case.The only permanent modification that has been done by a local luthier is moving the strap pin from the heel to the horn: the guitar had really bad neck dive. Now it balances perfectly on a strap. No idea why Gibson doesn‘t do that from the get go. You can see the hole in the back in the pictures.If you search for „Smooth Operator Sax Solo on guitar“ on Youtube you can hear it in action on my channel. Yes. It sounds that good.What else to say? I played it a couple times live on stage and regularly at home. Frets are in perfect condition and have been polished. Fresh set of Elixir strings is installed.
