Here for sale we have an Epiphone Ltd Edition Bjorn Gelotte 'Jotun' Les Paul Custom Outfit in Bone White finish. Made in China in 2017, this guitar is the signature model of In Flames guitarist Bjorn Gelotte, and features several refinements that bring the instrument in line with his preferences. These include the Rounded Custom'59 neck profile, EMG 81/85 active pickup set with Gold covers & pickup rings and even the stylized headstock inlay which echoes the In Flames 'Jester Head' logo as well as the traditional Gibson crown inlay. Naturally, a set-neck construction is employed, and comprises a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Ebony fingerboard. Gold hardware is fitted including a Nashville-style ToM bridge, StopBar tailpiece & Grover Rotomatic tuning mahcines. A pair of active EMG USA Metalworks pickups arte installed, with an 81 in the bridge & an 85 in the neck. These are wire to the traditional Les Paul controls. 

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the Rounded Custom '59 profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial playing experience across the register. Certainly on the thicker side, the neck has bags of character & feels very inspiring to play. With plenty of material to grasp, it's easy to sustain a firm grip for those heavy riffs & chrushing rhythm playing. That said, the neck still feels articulate enough for lead lines and solos without feeling at all cumbersome. The Ebony of the fingerboard provides a smooth & durable playing surface which feels nice & luxurious under the fingers. With it's traditional 12" radius & medium jumbo frets, lead techniques like string bending & vibrato are an absolute breeze. 

Amplified, the pair of active EMG USA Metalworks 81/85 pickups deliver huge, crushing tones, just as we expect from Gelotte & EMG. Punchy & lightly compressed with clean settings, these pickups can handle an unholy amount of gain, and saturate completely when you drive the amp hard. The bridge is nice & bright, cutting easily through the mix to put your riffs front & centre. The neck is of course rounder, and produces plenty of power for melodic lines and solos. The controls are kept simple, but as always with the Les Paul layout offer ample opportunity for tweaking whilst playing. A seriously cool instrument with some tasteful refinements that make it an absolute metal machine.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. Light scratching is present to the front face of the headstock, these can only be seen under direct as is common with gloss finishes.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching is present to the fingerboard across the register, these can only be seen under direct light and can not be felt in the playing position.

Body: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the body display light signs of past use.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) included.

Hardware: Excellent condition with very light tarnishing of the metal hardware. 

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
