BIGZUN Drone Generator – Eurorack Drone & Ambient Module / Handmade Synth

The DRONE GENERATOR is designed to create dense, static drones that can be brought to life manually by adjusting the controls. Its architecture is based on two interdependent sound blocks — changing one affects the behaviour of the other, allowing a wide range of tones from slow pulses to rough noise textures. The module does not “evolve on its own”, but it responds strongly to knob movement, making it easy to shape shifting, evolving sound layers through performance.

Each block has its own OUT jack, while the MIX OUT provides a summed signal of both blocks. In practice, the MIX OUT signal is dominated by BLOCK B, which acts as the leading block. Because of this, MIX OUT works best as a trigger/modulation output, generating irregular pulses and organic fluctuations ideal for driving other BIGZUN modules — for example the BIGZUN XOR Drifter, where it performs excellently as a trigger or modulation source.

MIX OUT can be used as an additional audio output, but this is a last‑resort option — the signal is unbalanced and does not represent the full interaction of both blocks as well as OUT 1 and OUT 2. Its primary purpose is control, not audio.
