Korg Mini-Pops 7 — The JMJ Legend
Last unit available

Pro services included · Huge, warm and dynamic sound · Massive analog circuits built from discrete elements · Precisely adjusted frequencies and waveforms.

The Korg (Keio) Mini-Pops 7, released in 1966, featured 15 drum sounds and 20 patterns. This machine is one of the defining drum machines in the history of electronic music.

Jean-Michel Jarre used it throughout his breakthrough album Oxygène. Some rhythms were achieved by overlaying two presets in a manner not intended by the original design. Équinoxe Parts V, VI and VII featured the Rock 1 pattern. Aphex Twin used it on Syro, naming a track "minipops 67 [120.2]" in its honour. Echo and the Bunnymen also relied on the Mini-Pops 7.

⚠ Notice: The Univox SR-95 is not the same instrument. A variant was sold in the US under the Univox brand — it featured slightly different "Beguine" and "Slow Rock" rhythms and was missing the Mini-Pops 7's rimshot.

This unit was found in rare good condition. Potentiometers have been cleaned, de-oxidised and lubricated. One of the secret weapons of many producers – a must for lovers of analogue electronic instruments.

Professional studio options: Professional studios sometimes require additional flexibility. Independent audio outputs or/and MIDI with tempo sync can be installed upon request – please contact us before purchase to discuss your requirements.
