Here for sale we have a Gibson Les Paul Classic 120th Anniversary Electric Guitar in Lemon Burst finish. Made in the USA in 2014, this guitar was part of a limited run of instruments commemorating 120 years of Gibson quality & craftsmanship since Orville Gibson set up his first shop in Kalamazoo, MI in 1894. Naturally, a set-neck construction is employed and comprises a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a StopBar tailpiece, Nashville TOM bridge & Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with 'Tulip' buttons. A pair of Gibson '57 Classic passive humbucking pickups are installed and the wiring has been modified to a 3-way toggle switch, independent volume controls with push/pull coil-split on the neck volume, and independent tone controls.

The Mahogany neck plays beautifully, with the '60s Slim Taper profile offering comfortable playability and easy reach across the register. The gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 24.75" scale, whilst the single cutaway body design ensures easy access to the upper frets. The Rosewood of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The Mahogany body features traditional weight relief. This ensures comfort on long gigs without detracting from the 'classic' Les Paul experience; substantial & resonant. 

The pair of Gibson '57 Classic humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, exemplifying the rock and blues tones that the Les Paul has long been renowned for. The neck position is warm and round, with plenty of power for pushing your lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The bridge is of course brighter, perfect for rock rhythm parts and riffing because it can handle a serious amount of gain. There is all of the snarl and bite that we associate with rockin' Les Paul tones, yet at the same time definition and clarity is retained. The pickups clean up nicely too, with shimmering clean sounds ready for the softer sections of the set. The guitar has been modified to have traditional Les Paul wiring, with a push/push neck volume pot to split the coils of the humbuckers.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition, a small spot of finish delamination is apparent to the top rear edge towards the center. The top front edge shows very light scuffing which is visible only under close scrutiny.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the neck and fingerboard.

Body: Overall very good condition. The treble side lower bout of the front face shows very light finish checking, as is common with nitrocellulose finishes, this is only visible under close scrutiny. Light indentations are present to the bass side lower bout of the front face as well as to the rear face at both the selector switch plate and treble side waist edge, these have lightly pierced the finish but do not expose the wood beneath. With this very light delamination is present to the treble side waist edge.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) included.

Hardware: The jack socket plate has been replaced, original (damaged) included.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Electrics: This guitar has been re-wired to accommodate traditional Les Paul controls, with the addition of a Push/Push neck volume to split the coils of the pickups. Original board and pots included. Original quick connect wires not included.
