Here for sale we have a Larrivee 000-44R Legacy Series Acoustic Guitar in Natural Gloss finish. Larrivee guitars was founded in Toronto in 1967, beginning in Jean Larrivee's basement whilst he was a student of Edgar Moench Sr. Initially basing his designs on European classical guitars, he began developing his steel-stringed instruments in his first commercial space on the second floor of the Tarragon Theatre from around 1970. Since then, Larrivee guitars have developed a reputation for incredible craftsmanship, beautiful tone and stunning aesthetics. Indeed, they are well known for their beautiful inlay work, which since '79 have been exclusively designed by Jean's wife Wendy. 

Made in the USA in 2022, this guitar consists of a Solid Spruce top, Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, a Mahogany neck, and a 18-fret Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include a High-Density Bone nut and saddle, Open Back 18:1 tuners, Scalloped Hybrid bracing, and Bold Rope rosette and top purfling.

The Mahogany neck plays exceptionally well, with a profile which might be described as a fairly substantial 'D' shape which provides a suitably vintage-inspired playing experience across the register. The Ebony of the fretboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with its 16" radius is both traditional and practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The small stature of the Parlor body design is supremely comfortable in the arms and provides a sense of intimacy to the playing experience.

The voice of the 000-44R Legacy Series is nothing short of exquisite. Sitting comfortably between a Parlor and Dreadnought, the 000 body size is renowned for being supremely well-balanced. Lows are rich yet understated, the mid range is clear and the highs are bright and glistening. This all adds up to a beautiful and unmistakable tone that is equally at home as a solo instrument or as part of an ensemble. The all-solid construction ensures a beautiful resonance which delivers a wide and sensitive dynamic range, encompassing both elegant intricate passages and powerful chordal sections. An excellent example of Larrivee's finest work.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the headstock display light signs of past use.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use.

Body: Overall excellent condition. Light scratching is present tot the center of the rear face, these can only be seen under direct light. All other aspects of the body display light signs of past use.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability.  There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss Rod tool (4mm hex ) included.

Hardware: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the hardware display light signs of past use.
