Here for sale we have an Epiphone Ltd Edition Peter Frampton 1964 FT-79 Texan electro-acoustic guitar in Faded Vintage Burst finish. This limited edition instrument is based on Frampton's own 1964 Texan, on which every song he wrote between 1969 & 1980 started life. After narrowly avoiding destruction in the 2010 Nashville floods, Epiphone produced this limited run of 500 standard and 100 'Premium Outfit' instruments in 2018.

Made in China in 2018 this guitar features an all-solid set-neck construction comprising a Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Pau Ferro fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in Ivoroid, whilst the top is adorned with a restrained striped purfling & rosette & tortoiseshell pickguard. The fingerboard is inlaid with Pearloid parallelograms, matching the headstock inlay. A Bone saddle & nut are fitted, along with a set of Schaller M6 sealed tuning machines. An L.R Baggs EAS-VTC undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and is wired to discreet soundhole-mounted master volume & tone controls.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a rather narrow nut width at 1.605". Paired with the SlimTaper 'C' profile, it has to be said that the neck feels exceptionally easy to navigate, offering easy reach and comfortable playability in all registers. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius works well for chordal and melodic lines whilst medium jumbo frets improve the feel of vibrato and string bending techniques. The smooth lines of the Slope Shoulder dreadnought body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, just as practical in a seated position as they are standing.

The acoustic voice of the Peter Frampton Texan is well-balanced and dynamic, producing a warm and rich sound with a strong and clear midrange. The Sitka Spruce top contributes to the instrument's excellent projection and sustain, and delivers a bright and crisp high end that is well-articulated. The Mahogany back and sides offer warmth & character, with a deep low end that makes chords hum and chime. The L.R Baggs EAS-VTC system faithfully conveys the acoustic voice of the instrument, adding the versatility required for live & studio use. A nicely appointed & beautifully crafted instrument.
