Here for sale we have a Fender J5 Telecaster in a Black finish with Chrome Pickguard. Made in Mexico in 2004, this guitar features a bolt-on construction consisting of an Ash body, Maple neck and a 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar features Chrome hardware including a 6-Saddle American Tele bridge and Fender sealed tuners. This instrument has been equipped with a Custom Shop “Twisted” single-coil in the neck and an Enforcer humbucker in bridge position. These pickups are wired to a 3-way switch and two independent volume controls.

The '60s "C" shape neck profile and satin finish give the guitar fast and smooth playability. The medium jumbo frets add to the robust playing experience and assist with string bending and vibrato techniques, lending itself to a wide variety of styles. The Ash body has some weight which contributes to the tone of the guitar, giving it a rounded low end and great sustain. The classic Telecaster shape adds to the familiar feel of this instrument, but is accentuated by the added flashiness of the Chrome pickguard, black finish and bound body.

The Enforcer Humbucker in the bridge gives a nice balanced tone whilst still having more ferocity but cleaning up to a delicate clean sound. The middle position strikes a balance between the nice low end of the neck position and the sharpness from the bridge pickup - perfect for rhythm playing. The Custom Shop neck pickup is warm and smooth, making every note distinguishable. The extremely simple controls are unobtrusive to the playing experience while still feeling responsive.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. The top of the headstock has been sawn off to a rounder shape. This has been performed to an acceptable standard. The front face demonstrates light scratching throughout, only visible under direct light. The top edge displays some delamination to the finish and an indentation that has pierced the finish but does not reveal the wood beneath.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The fingerboard demonstrates light scratching that cannot be felt beneath the strings. Any markings to the rear of the neck are difficult to discern.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light to mild scratching and indentation. Most notably to the bass side side face and rear, which feature indentations that have cracked the finish but do not reveal the wood beneath.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. All aspects of the hardware demonstrate light signs of previous use.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
