Here for sale we have a D’Angelico Excel 63 hollow body electric guitar in Natural Tint finish. Made in Korea in 2015 a set-neck construction is employed, and comprises a Spruce top  with Laminated Flamed Maple back and Laminated Flamed Maple sides, Maple neck and 20 fret Ebony fingerboard adorned with mother of pearl inlays. A set of Grover Super Rotomatic tuning machines are featured along with a Floating Ebony bridge and Stairstep tailpiece. A piezo pickup is installed and wired to a Side Mount Switchcraft

The Maple neck plays fantastically well, with a moderately-sized profile which might be described as a 'C' shape thanks to the slightly flattened area to the centre. This provides a comfortable place for the thumb to rest while playing, perfect for reaching those tricky chord voicings and breezing through smooth lead lines and solos. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 25” scale whilst the Ebony fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and with the split block mother of pearl inlays adds the ‘Luxury’ appeal these guitars are known for.  

The amplified tone of the Excel 63 exemplifies what is meant when people talk about the 'Jazz box' guitar tone. Smooth and dark, the tone is warm and round but also clear and articulate, chiming with a quality that is spacious and airy while also being distinct and bell-like. The Solid Spruce top and Laminated Flamed Maple back helps to reduce feedback when playing at louder volumes, the wood choices for the body provides a rich resonance, making the sound very reactive to the player's touch.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching is present to the front face, these can only be seen under direct light at close scrutiny. All other aspects of the headstock display light signs of past use.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use.

Body: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the body display light signs of past use.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod:  Fully functional. Truss Rod Tool (4mm Hex) included.

Hardware: Overall very good condition. The tailpiece displays light tarnishing. The scratchplate displays light scratching which can be seen under direct light under close scrutiny.  The bridge is at the bottom of it's adjustment. For players desiring a lower action, a low profile bridge or deepening of the bridge slots may be required. It is very comfortably playable currently.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Electrics: 

The volume levels vary across the bridge, with the low E being louder than the other strings. The guitar is still heard when amplified with the exception that the low E is louder.
