Here for sale we have a Dingwall D-Roc Standard Multi-Scale 4-String Electric Bass in Matte Blue-To-Purple Colorshift finish. Made in China in 2019, this bolt-on constructed bass consists of a Khaya body, a 5-piece Maple neck, and a 20-fret fanned Pau Ferro fingerboard. Other appointments include a Dingwall ‘Minimalist’ one-piece bridge, Banjo-Sized frets, and a set of three Dingwall FD3n pickups with Neodymium Magnets. These pickups are wired to a master volume, master tone, and a 4-way quad-tone pickup selector.

The neck is made using 5 pieces of Maple helping to make it really sturdy, further helped by a heavy duty truss rod. The Medium Thin C Shape is great to play and the radius is fairly rounded for comfortable fretting. This is a multiscale bass with a scale length of 34” (G) -36.25” (E), this allows for the lower notes to be a little bit clearer sounding thanks to the added tension on the string. The angle of the fanned frets moves fairly evenly up the neck, with the neutral point at the 8th.

Hand selected FD-3N pickups bring an aggressive, smooth tone to the table, as well as a much higher output thanks to the Neodymium magnets. The bass has extensive tonal options with a Master Volume, 4 Position Rotary Pickup Selector (1. Bridge Soloed, 2. Bridge/Neck in Parallel, 3. Bridge/Neck in Series 4. Neck Soloed) and a Master Tone control to experience every sonic flavour this bass has to offer.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition, a light indentation is apparent to the top rear edge that does not pierce the finish. 

Neck: Overall very good condition. Mild discoloration is present to the rear of the neck to both the bass and treble side of the early register, this is consistent with regular past use. Light indentations are present to the rear of the neck throughout the register, these can only be seen under close scrutiny and can be felt slightly in the playing position. It is difficult to discern any markings on the fingerboard.

Body: Overall very good condition, the bass side lower bout edge demonstrates a patch of wear through the finish revealing the wood beneath. The rear face demonstrates some buckle rash that does not pierce the finish. The Matte finish in high contact areas has polished to a Gloss texture, this is most prominent to the rear face bass side shoulder and to the arm contour on the front face.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with some scratching apparent to the fret surfaces which cannot be felt beneath the string. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work. 

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) included.

Hardware: Overall very good condition. Light tarnishing is present to the bridge saddles and neck bolts, this is consistent with past use.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
