About this listing
This is a 1984 Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+, the most sought-after amp of the Mark series and the sound behind the tight, aggressive high-gain tones of mid-'80s thrash and fusion. This head has the C++ modification done by Mike B. It's Mesa's own revision of the IIC+ lead circuit, made famous by Metallica's rigs, and it gives a hotter, more saturated lead channel while keeping the IIC+'s clarity and tight low end. It's fully loaded: Simul-Class power with four 6L6GC tubes, the footswitchable 5-band graphic EQ that defined the Mark sound, spring reverb, an effects loop, a slave out and a cooling fan. The serial number places it in the original 1984-85 C+ production run, and the "++" is hand-marked on the rear panel.
This amplifier is in excellent condition. Someone marked their go-to settings with paint pen on the knobs and the faceplate. The reverb tank has been taken out of the chassis; it works and comes with the amp, ready to reinstall.
