The "Hata Motohiro J-45 HCS" is a reproduction of Motohiro Hata's iconic 1966 J-45, recreated using Murphy Labs' technology. This particular instrument is a 2025 model, a beautiful used item, and one of only 100 limited-edition guitars produced. It features a thermally aged Sitka spruce top and genuine mahogany back and sides. The mahogany neck has a distinctive late-1960s custom curved neck shape, a 1.575-inch (approximately 40mm) nut width, and a 17-degree headstock angle. The rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 20 large-sized Legend frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The nut is made of bone, and the tuners are reliable Gotoh strap tuners (cream buttons). The belly-up bridge is made of rosewood and features bone saddles and cream-colored bridge pins. The pickups are the same "L.R. Baggs Anthem" as on Hata's own guitar. This Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish guitar features ultralight aging by Murphy Labs, capturing the feel and atmosphere of the main guitar that Motohiro Hata has cherished for many years. There are no noticeable scratches or signs of use beyond the aging process, and the neck condition is excellent.
