VIDEO! Westone Spectrum II SP2111ST - 1987 - pro setup, player ready

General introduction and background:

Very cool Westone Spectrum II Series guitar, model SP2111ST. Made in Korea, likely by Samick, in 1987. A very cool looking and well playing ST-style guitar.

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  648 mm

-Nut: ca 4,15 cm

-Weight: 3,1 kg

-Pickups: three original singlecoils, measuring at about 4,99k (B), 4,97K (M) and 5,1K (N). The control layout is exactly like that of a Strat – 2x tone, 1x volume, 5 way bladeswitch.

-Body: layers of laminated wood.

-Neck:  slim D-shape, maple with rosewood fingerboard. Medium frets with a flat radius of likely 12’’.

Condition:

-Body: good condition with some dings and dongs especially on the sides and some beltbuckle rash on the back (see pics). Fine and harmless lacquer fissures in the neck pocket.

-Neck: straight and good condition, frets have minor crevasses, no buzz or deadpots.

-Head: good condition; just a dong on the top

-Hardware: signs of aging, but in fairly good condition. A slightly bigger scratch in the pickguard (see pic)

-Electrics: works

-Originality: all original except for the tremolo arm and the backplate.

Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: the guitar plays exceedingly well with a very low string action and modern comfort. Tremolo is set to floating.

-Sound: Please check out the video for a sound demo. The guitar delivers a chimey, glassy Strat-like sound but with the typical 80s looks. If you want, you could always swap the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan ST-style humbucker and create a real 80s superstrat.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Completely cleaned

-Frets polished, fretboard cleaned and oiled

-Electronics cleaned and serviced

-Pro setup of string action, pickup height and intonation

-New 10 gauge all nickel Pyramid strings put on – play it in!

Auxiliary stuff:

-No case or gigbag included. The item will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you need a case, a 4/4 classical guitar case will fit well. I can buy one at your cost for the shipping, just let me know.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
