Alembic, the world's first active bass manufacturer, is renowned as a pioneer in high-end bass design, blending groundbreaking technology and craftsmanship. Known for its through-neck construction offering rich sustain and low-noise electronics, Alembic instruments have been favored by legendary artists like Stanley Clarke and Mark King.

While Alembic's flagship model, the "Series 1," is iconic, its elaborate system—requiring an external power supply—makes it challenging for the average player to obtain.

The Signature Standard model, like this one, evolved from the Series 1. This particular instrument appears to be a custom order based on its included spec sheet. It features a mahogany body with a maple top, and its controls include master volume, pickup balancer, individual EQ for each pickup, and mini-switches for EQ Q select functionality.

The sound is quintessentially "Alembic"—clear and balanced across the tonal spectrum, with a distinctive character that has made Alembic a unique and enduring name in the bass world. Despite the differing model names, Alembic's sound remains consistently recognizable. This level of craftsmanship and unique sound has ensured Alembic's longevity, with their basses continuing to be produced from the 1980s to the present.

The 5-string configuration offers excellent response, even with the low B string, and while its electronics are highly sophisticated, the instrument itself exudes precision and reliability.

Condition: Professionally cleaned, set up, and strung with fresh strings. This instrument is ready to play straight out of the box.
Exterior condition: Minor scratches and dents, but overall, a clean appearance.
Neck: Generally straight, with no significant warping or twisting.
Truss rod: There is still plenty of room for adjustment.
Fret condition: Approximately 80% remaining.
