Richard Hoover of SCGC and Tony Rice have collaborated for many years to produce one of the best contemporary Bluegrass guitars. The Tony Rice model is based on Rice's original D28 from 1935 and features the typical lightweight construction that Santa Cruz is known for.

The body is crafted from fine-grained Indian rosewood, combined with a Sitka spruce top, and these are the materials that effortlessly produce the grand dreadnought sound. To improve playability, a 25.4-inch scale length and Tony's slim V-shaped neck profile ensure fast and effortless action. The wood types and intelligent design make this instrument the quintessential contemporary bluegrass dreadnought.

This 2015 Santa Cruz has multiple dings on the top, along with some light wear on the pickguard. Furthermore, we find a few small dings on the back of the body, as well as some light playing marks on the side of the body. The front of the headstock has light scratches, and here too, some small dings can be found on the edges.

Overall, however, the guitar is very clean and comes with a TFOA passport in an Ameritage case.
