Overview

Q2 Audio F760X-RS Compex, based closely on the legendary ADR F760X-RS compressor/limiter/expander used on countless classic recordings.

This is the non-transformer version and has been used exclusively in my own professional studio. It is in excellent cosmetic condition and operates perfectly. I’m selling it as part of a wider studio downsizing and move towards a more post-production-focused setup.

The Compex is much more than a conventional compressor: its compressor, limiter and expander/gate sections combine to produce everything from subtle dynamic control to the aggressive, explosive compression for which the original ADR units became famous.

The Q2 version provides the classic F760X-RS architecture in a modern, reliable unit without the maintenance uncertainty and increasingly high prices associated with original vintage examples.

A superb character dynamics processor for drums, room microphones, bass, vocals and parallel compression.

Condition

Excellent. The unit is in superb condition throughout. Front panel, knobs, switches, and LED indicators are all clean and fully functional. Both channels perform identically with no noise, distortion, or tracking issues. All controls operate smoothly. This is a genuine workhorse that has been treated with respect.
