Up for sale is a magnificent 1930 Conn "Chu Berry" Transitional alto saxophone in its original lacquer finish. This horn has a legendary vintage character, offering an exceptionally big, warm, and rich tone with instant response that is perfect for classic jazz and swing. Mechanically, the saxophone is in top playing condition — it has been recently overhauled with brand new pads featuring metal resonators, ensuring tight sealing and maximum projection across all registers. As is typical with vintage 1930s Conns, it plays with immense core and power; the intonation is solid throughout, with the d2 to f2 range riding slightly higher, requiring just the standard voicing adjustment common to horns of this era.
