You can use the Ruby Red Booster as a treble booster, clean booster, or as an overdrive unit, or any combination of the above. Plus, it can be used with or without a buffer. The Treble Booster is a booster tuned to the right treble frequency with a carefully designed bandwidth and an optimized bass cut slope. The booster circuit is designed to overdrive your amp's inputs from nice sparkle to heavy overdrive with a massive 40dB boost. The booster is calibrated to produce musical distortion on its own at higher boost settings. You can control the total level of the two boosters with the Master Volume control, and also use the Master Volume to dial in distortion from the unit. The Ruby Red Booster is the best sounding and most versatile electric guitar booster on the market!ControlsMASTER: This is a volume control that is located directly after the booster circuit. This control sets the final output and can be used to control the output when the pedal is used for overdrive (Boost turned up).TREBLE: Sets the treble boost from zero to about 15dB. The treble frequency and bandwidth are finely tuned with an optimized bass slope.BOOST: The booster gain can be set from the unit to about 40dB of boost.BUFFER: There is a switch inside the pedal for a high quality buffer. You can set the pedal for true bypass or "buffer on" in bypass mode. It is recommended to use the buffer in the signal chain when using many pedals and/or long cables and for treble help. Pedals are shipped "buffer on". The Mad Professor RRB Buffer is an amplifier with a voltage gain of exactly 1x. The output impedance of the buffer is slightly less than the DC resistance of a standard guitar pickup to equalize the effect of the subsequent load impedance. The input impedance is set to 500K for a medium load compared to standard guitar pickups.
