Modern innovation for today’s creative players
The new Futura Series guitars from Epiphone are designed for today’s guitarists who want an instrument that delivers professional performance and forward-thinking features. These Inspired by Gibson models deliver tone and style that’s perfect for gigging, recording, or content creation in the modern era. With bold, color-shifting finishes, all-new pickups, and versatile electronic features like coil splitting and phase switching, they have the look and sound that today’s players need to stand out from the crowd and make their own statement, both sonically and visually. Other high-performance features, including stainless steel frets, compound-radius fretboards, and ultra-comfortable neck profiles, make the Futura Series guitars truly innovative and a must-have addition for any guitar collection.
The Gibson SG™ has remained one of Gibson’s most iconic solidbody models since its debut in 1961. Originally introduced as a redesigned Les Paul™, it quickly earned its own identity as the SG—short for Solid Guitar. Epiphone proudly presents the Futura SG Custom, a contemporary interpretation of this legendary design that still exudes sleek, aggressive style more than six decades later. Its double-cutaway mahogany body retains the classic SG contours for both visual appeal and playing comfort. Hardware includes a LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece for superior sustain and tuning stability, and Posi-Lok™ strap buttons for secure performance. The glued-in mahogany neck sports a fast-playing Modern C profile, topped with a bound ebony fingerboard featuring 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets, Super 400-style pearloid split-block inlays, and a smooth 10”-14” compound radius for effortless chording and bends. The bound Kalamazoo headstock adds elegance with locking Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and mother-of-pearl inlays for the Epiphone logo and Custom split diamond motif.
Driving the Futura SG Custom are Epiphone’s new ProBucker™ Ignite humbuckers™, delivering powerful tones with clarity and definition. Push/pull controls unlock coil-splitting and phase options for expanded sonic versatility. Available in three stunning Chromashift finishes—Dragonfly Shift, Nitro Shift, and Midnight Ember Shift—this guitar is designed to turn heads on stage or on camera. Whether you want a modern aesthetic, a wide tonal palette, or an instrument that inspires creativity, the Futura SG Custom delivers. Each one ships with a premium gig bag, ready to accompany you wherever inspiration strikes.
