With the PRS NF 53 White Doghair Smokeburst, Paul Reed Smith presents a powerful guitar model whose design combines traditional and modern features. For this model from the Bolt-On series, Paul took one of his vintage guitars from 1953 as a template and enhanced the design with a number of contemporary features. The NF53’s basic construction features a solid swamp ash body and a bolt-on maple neck, fitted with 22 medium-sized frets. Two in-house PRS Narrowfield DD humbucker pickups, meanwhile, are responsible for the versatile tonal character. The ‘Deep Dish’ version of these slim double-coil pickups features taller coil bodies and a higher number of windings, enabling both pickups to deliver additional output. The hardware comprises a PRS plate-style bridge, specially designed for this model, with two barrel saddles, and six classic PRS Phase III non-locking tuners.
